Its not really that hard to do and can sound far better than what your suggesting to do. WebYou can get a 6x9 to 6.5" adapter pretty cheap (maybe $20 for the pair), or if you're handy it's also very easy to make your own custom plate. I'd recommend grabbing a set of foam rings, maybe $15, to put around the front of the speaker. Helps mid bass a ton. If you can do a component system, do it. Sounds WAY better.
